Kriatsi is a beautiful village located in a vast spruce-fir forest, at a height of 1250 m. above sea level, making it the highest village in Central Greece (22nd in Greece). The village has an unobstructed view on the tributary of Evinos river (Fidari). The houses are built on the slope of mount Vardoussia and are made of stone, wood, and tiles. Here, visitors can see a remarkable and unique, from a structural perspective, complex of 5 stone houses, built in Z-shape, with a common, slanted slate roof. The houses are connected by an underground passage. A towering centenarian sycamore tree spreads its shade across the central square of the village.
Kriatsi is an ideal destination for those who love hiking in the nature. Hikers will enjoy stunning images of green landscapes, tall trees and various plants.
