Pavliani is located on the southern part of the Phthiotis regional unit, on the border with Phocis.

Built on the slopes of mount Oeta, Pavliani is known from ancient times, with the remains of a temple dedicated to Hercules and his funeral pyre (“Pyra Herakleous”) still surviving near the village. Places of special interest and natural beauty are the extraordinary natural park at the Assopos springs, the Kouvelos castle, etc.

Pavliani is visited by people from all over Greece, as its neat hotels, the restaurants with the delicious traditional dishes, and the warmth and hospitality of the locals make it an ideal holiday destination.
